May-1949 Founded as a subcontractor for Hitachi; rented space at
Tokyo Koki Mfg. Co.'s Osaki plant with capital of 600,000 Yen.
Feb-1951 Succeeded in trial manufacturing of click-type torque wrench and these wrenches were delivered to Toyota and other customers.
Dec-1952 Torque wrench was approved as a superior automobile tool by MITI.
Apr-1953 Registration of utility model patent.
Apr-1959 Constructed new plant in Ota-Ku, Tokyo and moved.
May-1960 Torque wrenches were designated as a recommended tool for the automotive service industry.
Nov-1968 Succeeded in trial manufacturing of pneumatic Unitork-screwdriver and applied for foreign patent and branched out into the pneumatic tool market.
Nov-1969 Founded Tsukuba plant in Tokyo Hakari Industrial Park.
Feb-1970 Awarded Invention Prize for pneumatic Unitork-screwdriver by Association of Inventions.
Apr-1971 Succeeded in trial manufacturing of pneumatic Airtork-wrench.
Foreign sales network was expanded. Founded Osaka branch.
Aug-1971 Founded a representative office in Duesseldorf, Germany.
Apr-1974 Constructed Kofu plant, and started operations. Celebrated 25th Anniversary.
Jun-1978 Founded subsidiary company, Tohnichi Airtork Sales Co., Ltd.
Oct-1980 Founded Tohnichi Europe S.A. in Belgium.
Jan-1984 Developed and started production of microprocessor, which was incorporated into new products.
Dec-1984 Founded Tohnichi America Corporation in Chicago, USA.
Aug-1986 Carried out increase of capital to 230,890,000 Yen.
Apr-1987 Constructed 2nd Kofu Plant.
Apr-1990 Founded Hiroshima branch in Minami-Ku, Hiroshima.
Jan-1991 Purchased land and constructed new office for Tohnichi Europe S.A. in Brussels, Belgium.
Oct-1993 Participated in the Tokyo Motor Show.
Jun-1994 Established employee stock ownership program.
Jul-1996 Nagoya branch moved to the new office in Yashirogaoka, Meito-Ku, Nagoya.
Oct-1996 Constructed warehouse for finished products at the Kofu Plant.
Jan-1997 Accredited ISO9001(JQA-1536) at the Kofu Plant.
May-1997 Mr.Hiroshi Tsuji, President of Tohnichi Mfg. Co., Ltd. received Blue Ribbon Medal at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
May-1999 Celebrated 50th Anniversary.
Carried out an increase of capital to 300,000,000 Yen.
Jul-1999 Opened Torque Center Building.
Feb-2001 Emperor's visit to Tohnichi Torque Center and Omori plant.
Apr-2002 Founded Tohnichi Shanghai Mfg. Co., Ltd.
Jul-2002 Accredited ISO 14001(JQA-EM2470) at the Kofu Plant.
Jun-2003 Opened Torque Center Osaka.
Tohnichi Torque Standard Calibration Room opened at Kofu Plant.
Nov-2003 Mr. Hiroshi Tsuji, President of Tohnichi Mfg. Co., Ltd. received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette.
Jan-2004 Osamu Tsuji appointed as President and Hiroshi Tsuji acceded to Chairman of the Board.
Apr-2006 Selected as one of "Introducing 300 of Japan's Dynamic Manufacturing SMEs Supporting the Japan of Tomorrow" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.
Torque Center Europe opened.
Jun-2006 Kyushu sales office opened.
Jun-2007 Torque Center Nagoya opened.
Founded Tsukuba new plant.
Aug-2008 Founded a Tohnichi America Corporation Atlanta Office, USA.
